We have supported major public and private sector organisations through complex and challenging transformations and improvements.

We have worked closely with senior stakeholders to define the change and benefits strategy, agree the communications approach, manage the transition and coach staff through the transition process. Our strength is making change and improvement happen.

Our business transformation and change assignments have included:

New ways of working

We managed a programme to implement major behavioural and cultural change in a central government department. The programme introduced:

PRINCE2 management techniques
a standard policy development cycle
enhanced corporate reporting
a strategic, customer and financial approvals system for business cases


Benefits management and realisation strategy

We established a benefits management strategy for a multi-national construction company during the initiation stage of a major business transformation portfolio of programmes. We worked with each participating operating company to identify, quantify, track and evaluate benefits from capabilities delivered by the programmes.

Business process standardisation

We have provided project management, change management and business analysis expertise to support the implementation of an Oracle billing solution into the different operating companies of a financial services organisation. We developed the standardised processes and a global shared service model with defined roles and responsibilities.

Stakeholder engagement

We developed the communications and stakeholder management strategy to support the implementation of changes that resulted from the European Directive for the Energy Performance of Buildings. We led the engagement with influential internal and external stakeholders to inform policy, communication approach and implementation.

High quality information is a core component of everything we deliver. We have supported our clients at every level from strategic improvement down to detailed information analysis.

We have performed data analysis, cleansing and migration for major change initiatives. We have also worked with several organisations to improve their information assurance practices.

Our information and data management assignments have included:

Strategic information management plan

We led the development of a strategic information management plan across a government organisation that was created from the amalgamation of several government bodies. The organisation was struggling to manage vast quantities of information, including a large volume of paper records that needed to be kept securely and auditable. We developed a series of coordinated measures and changes to alleviate the problems, including more efficient electronic ways of working and identification and removal of duplicate information.

Operational data analysis

We analysed data sets and designed and built Business Objects universes within a surveillance system that tracks animal health and disease data from multiple sources. We designed and produced several business critical tools including a dashboard and a capability to support centralised risk-based analysis of animal diseases.

Data management and migration

We were responsible for the people-related data used during a major transfer of personnel into a newly created government agency.

Data cleansing

We managed the cleansing of over 13,000 HR records to allow the Maintenance Department of a national transport organisation to use a new Oracle capability.

Information assurance

We developed and implemented an Information Assurance Management System (IAMS) to comply with ISO 27001:2005, for a central government department to meet the requirements of the cross-government Data Handling Review.

imageCost effective technology deployment and business alignment

We have worked with Heads of IT and senior IT managers across the spectrum of IT strategy and solution delivery.

We have advised on high-level solutions and we have provided detailed technical support and assurance for major systems deliveries.

We have reviewed and improved the IS/IT delivery capability of a range of IT departments and we also manage the approach taken by systems integrators and product vendors and we assure the quality of the solutions they deliver.

Our technology assignments have included:

IT Department strategic planning

We advised a CIO during a strategic planning exercise to refocus the IT department to make it more efficient and effective and to offer good value for money. We defined a suite of management and operational themes.

IT strategy and improvement plan

We worked closely with the Head of ICT Infrastructure at a government statutory advisory body to develop a Strategy Blueprint and 5-Year Roadmap for the ICT function. We have subsequently undertaken reviews and delivered recommendations on a range of topics including virtualisation and EDRM.

Technical Design Authority

We performed the role of the Technical Design Authority for a government agency to ensure all national projects use a common enterprise architecture and follow best practice for design and implementation.

Supplier engagement and delivery assurance

We defined the test strategy and approach covering all phases of testing in the project lifecycle for an intelligence-driven surveillance capability for a central government department. We managed the systems integrator to turnaround the failing solution delivery which had missed key deadlines.

IT capability assessment

We worked with the Head of IT at a water utility company that was looking at entering a new market. We assessed the likely impact on its IT capabilities and business processes and highlighted the associated risks and potential costs.

Business and IT alignment

We specified strategic customer management needs for a water utility company. Board level decisions were based on recommendations resulting from discussions with stakeholders and third-party solution providers, and they covered commercial, functional and operational aspects.
